Uninstalling

You must complete the following steps in order to remove Sovereign Home Cloud. Event broker services and persistent volumes outlive a plain helm uninstall.

  1. Delete your event broker services: Using the Cloud Console delete each event broker service. Each event broker service is a separate Helm release that the datacenter agent created, and uninstalling Sovereign Home Cloud does not remove them.
  2. Uninstall each added datacenter, then Sovereign Home Cloud:

    helm uninstall team-dc -n team-dc
    helm uninstall home-cloud-control-plane -n home-cloud-control-plane

  3. Persistent volumes are kept. Helm does not delete persistent volumes, so the data of the bundled data stores, the in-cluster event broker services and any remaining event broker services survives an uninstall. For a clean reinstall, delete them:

    kubectl get pvc -n home-cloud-control-plane
kubectl delete pvc --all -n home-cloud-control-plane

Warning Solace does not recommend reinstalling onto kept volumes. A reinstall that reuses old volumes keeps the old data and the old passwords. The bundled PostgreSQL and the in-cluster event broker services keep the passwords they were first created with, while the new installation generates new ones, so the control plane cannot sign in to them. Either delete the volumes, or pass the original passwords and the original VAULT_LOCAL_KEY to the new installation.
