Deploying with Kubernetes¶
Sovereign Home Cloud is installed with the home-cloud-control-plane Helm chart. Choose the path that fits where you are deploying.
Installation Paths¶
| Path | Use case | Data stores | Also needs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quick Start | Evaluation and proofs of concept | Bundled | Nothing beyond Before You Begin |
| Installing for Production | Installations you keep | Your own recommended | Your own event broker service, a CA certificate and key, hostnames, TLS certificates, an ingress controller, backups |
| Installing in an Air-Gapped Environment | Clusters with no internet access | Your own recommended | The same as production, plus a private registry holding the mirrored images |
Warning The Quick Start keeps well-known default passwords and serves the UIs without TLS. It is not suitable for production use.
On OpenShift, follow your chosen path together with Installing on OpenShift, which covers user ID ranges, Routes and OpenSearch.
A Quick Start does not become a production installation by upgrading it. Production uses your own event broker, and the control plane's event broker, like maasPrefix and the storage classes, is fixed at installation. Install production separately.
Compute Resources¶
Compute Resources lists the CPU, memory and storage each workload requests, the size of an event broker service, and how to size the nodes.
